Thus was born my idea for a tracksuit for tall people.
The idea for a tracksuit specifically for tall people did not come from a brainstorming session or a fashion education. It arose from something much simpler and more recognizable: pure frustration.
I was in The Hague with my husband. He is two meters tall and we were looking for sports pants. We visited store after store. But as so often: nothing fitted. Everything too short. Too narrow. Too basic. We went home empty-handed. And that moment lingered. “Why is this still not there?” I asked myself.
When I shared the frustration with other tall people, I immediately felt: this is not a personal problem. This is something structural. Everyone had the same stories. Shirts creeping up. Pants that don't come off. Sportswear in which you don't feel strong, but uncomfortable.
And then came the realization: if nobody solves this problem, then I have to do it myself.
I got stuck into the clothing world. How do you design a tracksuit? What do you look for in the right length, the right fabric, the right feel? I didn't want to make just anything, I wanted to create clothing that people recognize themselves in. Not just in fit, but in look. Powerful. Modern. Comfortable.
That's how Peakout was born. Out of personal irritation. But mostly out of the conviction that things have to be different. A brand that finally takes tall men and women seriously. Where you don't have to choose between style or fit. Where you simply find what you have been looking for all this time.
For that one moment.
When someone puts on a Peakout tracksuit for the first time, looks in the mirror and says, “This just fits góed.”
Confident, relaxed, himself.
That's why I started this brand.
